Junnu Plays London
We're gonna miss Junnu. He's back off to sunny (cough, cough) Finland. Back to the land of sauna's, beating eachother up with twigs and hanging on to the coarse hair of the odd moose... so to make the transition back to this strange land easier, Colin co-ordinated a fetching tight fitting light blue leather jacket, matching skin tight leather trousers and a rather gay scarf (which ended up a bandana) for Junnu to wear on his last big night out in 'ol Blighty. Why this combination you might well ask? ... The answer my friend is blowing in the wind or rather the air. Because Junnu's home town of Olou is where the world championships of Air Guitar are held and the outfit is a copy of the infamous "C Diddy" who won it last year.
Junnu in the best spirit of serious Air Guitar approached his night out with the applomb you'd expect of a half crazed and inebriated Fin right to the point of going back in to a pub to retrieve said Air Guitar and then proceeding to pack it away and carry it out, much to the confusion of the other drinkers. When asked "what about the amp", he furrowed his brow and solemnly pushed it across the floor to one of the posse. "You carry it" he said.
Before heading off to yet another pub we passed by David Blane who waved at us (probably an annoyed "go away" gesture), mainly because the 30,000 people who he thought turned up to see him swivelled round in unison to see a mad Fin down on his knees wreaking havoc with what appeared to be an invisible guitar. The last pub provided Junnu and pals the excuse for a farewell gig and much trying on of the now famed light blue jacket. This proved too much for Steve, JK and I who staggered off to Kings Cross. Later Junnu forgot his coat and wandered back with Colin to the pub to retrieve it. Azad, Tim and Austin lingered for a while then decided to catch them up. In a bizzare twist a vigilantie watching the scene got a slightly different slant on the story as he waded in to stop three yobs chasing a poof in a light blue leather jacket accompanied by his "friend". Azad unfortunately got the sharp end of it.
Junnu is threatening to enter for next years version of the World Air Guitar Championships. I think he'll do rather well.
